Blooms can last 2-months to 3-months during late winter and early spring. Cut the flower spikes to 2 in. once it has lost all of its flowers. This will sometimes promote a secondary spike on which plantlets (new plants) may grow. After the plantlet has developed several roots, remove from the spike and plant in a pot.
