How Best to Apply and Remove Painters Tape
Apply to clean, dry surface
Carefully add tape to surfaces you want to protect, applying pressure as you go.
Wait it out
Secure the tape firmly with your hands or use a putty knife. Wait 45-60 minutes before starting to paint. Once the paint is completely dry to the touch you can start removing the tape.
Remove carefully
Taking your time, lift up the painter’s tape and pull it back on itself, removing it at a 45-degree angle. You can also use a putty knife or razor blade to score along the edge of the tape.
